Engage with Biology

This interactive practice tool was developed to help students engage more actively with course content, identify areas for improvement, and build confidence through repeated retrieval practice. Questions can be filtered by exam and topic, allowing students to focus their study efforts where they are needed most

As a scientist and educator, I believe that learning biology is more than memorizing facts, but it’s about developing the ability to think critically, recognize patterns, and apply concepts in new contexts. Effective study involves frequent self-assessment, reflection, and opportunities to learn from mistakes.

This tool reflects my teaching philosophy by providing:

  • Immediate feedback to support learning from errors.
  • Opportunities for repeated practice without penalty.
  • Flexible review of specific topics and exams.
  • Accessibility features designed to support diverse learners.
  • A low-stakes environment that encourages curiosity and growth.

My goal is to help students move beyond simply preparing for an exam and toward developing a deeper understanding of biological concepts and scientific thinking.

Happy studying, and remember: every question, whether answered correctly or incorrectly, is an opportunity to learn.
